Anand Shukla, Daycare Trust Chief Executive will provide an update on early years policy developments and how they affect the sector. In particular, the talk will cover developments in relation to the early years foundation stage, the Ofsted consultation on inspections, the Nutbrown review on qualifications and changes to the Universal Credit. He will also set out the future direction of government policy.

It will highlight avenues of support and resources to those involved in Families in the Foundation Years.

Whether it is in the sand and water area, the garden, cookery time or super science children need to have quality, first-hand, well planned messy play provision. What challenges does this present when we have to take a so-called simple idea and make it a successful experience? This workshop addresses those issues while celebrating the 'twoness of twos'.

This session will cover; how to plan for two year olds effectively, how to complete progress checks efficiently and accurately and some of the challenges of working with two year olds.

Listening is a skill that has to be nurtured and practiced. There are many ways you can encourage your children’s listening skills through fun and play and in this seminar Eleanor will be sharing lots of ideas and tips for using audio resources and equipment to support this vital skill. She will also be covering audio stories songs and listening games including where to find free audio resources and suggesting activities for microphones and recording.
