One of Child’s Play’s most recent board book series, ANIMAL BABIES, was a finalist in the Progressive Preschool’s “Best Preschool Publishing Range” Award in November last year. The books reached the shortlisting stage after a rigorous judging process, which separated just six outstanding products from thousands of entries in the category. The panel of judges was comprised of top retail buyers across the sector and we are honoured that our ANIMAL BABIES series captured their attention and received so many nominations. The four books have received widespread recognition for their unique approach to introducing young babies to the names of animals and their young. As a starred Kirkus Review describes them, the titles are “bracing antidotes to the cuteness that floods the board book shelves”. We are proud that Julia Groves’ first board books were so well received and we look forward to introducing fans to her new picture book, RAINFOREST, later this year.
